For any one thing that happens on any given day there are 7 billion perspectives.
We each have our own view of reality. Imagine we have a belief window we look out at the world through. This window is colored by our own inner beliefs, emotions, stories and expectations.
A reliable recipe for more frustration and suffering in our lives is to spend our energy trying to convince others to see life the same way we do; through our belief window.
There is also a reliable recipe for freedom. Pay attention to how YOU interpret things. Then notice how your viewpoint impacts your wellbeing. How does it make you feel? Because how it makes you feel is either moving you toward wellbeing, toward your goals, toward success - or away from it.
We can focus on something until it makes us sick or we can focus on something else. We have that much freedom.
The fact that we can choose gives us real ownership of our lives. We can choose and choose and choose again, all day long. We have massive power in our lives because we can choose. We can even choose what anything means to us.
The question is are we consciously asserting this power of choice?
Here's the science of it. What we choose to believe and how we choose to feel will activate a part of our brain that's entire mission is to prove us right - not to make us happy.
In the words of Albert Einstein, "The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe." Because both are true. You're always right. However, the outcome of your happiness, success, health and joy will be greatly influenced by how you decide to view anything.
What we believe reinforces everything we see and what we see reinforces what we believe. And what we believe will determine what we do.
Would you rather be right or happy? Would you rather let old beliefs limit you or choose to open up to something new that could set you free?
You are in the drivers seat. Choose to be in awe and gratitude. Choose to allow yourself to want what you want and dream big.
"'Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts." - Albert Einstein
